The grant will be used toward online training of fleet managers around the world on practical steps for energy and emissions reduction from truck fleets. The Smart Transport Manager Training is unique because it looks at all aspects of fleet management, and not merely at the deployment of technologies. Classroom training already empowered almost 120 fleet managers in China, South Africa and Ireland so far. STMT was also launched in Latin America in October.

“Smart Freight Centre is pleased with the support from the UPS Foundation because by making the training available online we can reach many more fleet managers around the world and track progress on actions implemented”

“With trucks and vans responsible for 62% of carbon emissions from freight transportation globally, it is critical that we help operators to take concrete climate action.”

Sophie Punte
Smart Freight Centre, Executive Director.

The UPS Foundation is honoured to support the Smart Freight Centre’s efforts towards efficient and zero emissions freight and logistics, helping towards the goal of 100+ multinationals reduce at least 30% of logistics emissions by 2030”
