The Board of Directors of Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Olivier Corvez as SFC’s new Executive Director.

Olivier’s appointment comes at an exciting time for SFC. The renewal of commitments from our core donors will enable us to successfully execute our mission to bring together the global logistics community through our Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) to work towards the vision of an efficient and zero-emissions global logistics sector - contributing to Paris Climate Agreement targets and Sustainable Development Goals.

The Board of Directors with its chairperson Adrian Weiler, interim Executive Director Tommes Krullaars, and the entire management team will be working closely with Olivier to expand SFC’s ambitious agenda to advocate for more climate friendly global logistics and supply chain operations.

SFC was established in 2013 as a global non-profit organization dedicated to an efficient and zero emissions freight sector – contributing to Paris Climate Agreement targets and Sustainable Development Goals. Currently, more than 120 multinationals work with the GLEC Framework to calculate and reduce GHG emissions with real and tangible impact recorded over the last 7 years. Today, Smart Freight Centre is the leading NGO and knowledge hub for sustainable freight worldwide.

In welcoming Olivier to the SFC team, the Board of Directors recognize Olivier’s extensive experience gained while working across multiple sectors in Europe, America, and Asia. Olivier brings significant experience with regards to project management and growing teams since first being given such an opportunity back in 2003 at KPMG in Paris.

Prior to joining SFC, Olivier led a variety of roles such as managing a global team while at Cisco and, along the way, grew the budget threefold during his 4-year tenure. In his most recent role at SEMI, he designed and launched a sustainability initiative targeting a vast and complex supply chain associated with the Electronic Industry. The Board strongly believe that Olivier is the best person for the role as his depth of experience will bring the necessary energy to scale up SFC and take the organization to the next level.

Olivier’s overall brief is centered on growth, to build on the mission, vision and values that have seen Smart Freight Centre push to have freight “fair and square on the global agenda, and the Covid crisis has only accelerated the push for sustainable logistics supply chains”. Olivier joins a highly ambitious team of individuals, undoubtedly his previous experience of leadership, continuous improvement and transformation will make him an incredible asset to SFC.

We are happy to welcome Olivier on board.
