Climate Week NYC 2024, scheduled from September 22-29, is the largest annual climate event globally, hosted by the Climate Group. This week-long event gathers business leaders, policymakers, and civil society from around the world to accelerate climate action and promote a green economy. The 2024 theme, "It's Time", emphasizes the urgent need to enhance renewable energy capacity, boost energy efficiency, and scale up climate innovations. The event coincides with the United Nations General Assembly and includes over 600 events across New York City.

GMA Trucking

This session will highlight progress towards the development of a first-of-its-kind, scalable procurement model focused on getting zero-emission heavy-duty trucks on the road.

GMA Trucking is a demand aggregation buyers alliance under the GMA umbrella that aims to accelerate the path to a decarbonized trucking sector by driving investment in and adoption of ZE-HDTs. GMA has partnered with the Smart Freight Centre (SFC) on this initiative to provide additional expertise on road decarbonization.

Road to Action – towards Accelerated Truck Electrification

Truck electrification is one of the most effective strategies to decarbonize road freight. In addition to strong regulations in Europe and North America, front-runner shippers are a critical driver to truck electrification. In this session, we will discuss how stakeholders are joining forces in collaborative initiatives to accelerate vehicle supply, charging infrastructure, and finance.

This session will also discuss current and upcoming opportunities for electric truck projects in various regions including North America, Europe, China, and India. It seeks to identify and overcome barriers hindering these projects' progress while extracting lessons across regions to launch, scale, and replicate such initiatives. The session will also provide insights into the role of private sector involvement and policy leadership to advance electric truck pilots globally.

Collective for Clean Transport Finance 2024 C-Level and Investor’s Roundtable

The roundtable will convene high-level public officials, corporate chief executive officers, and finance leaders who aspire to accelerate the adoption of clean transport technologies and infrastructure and familiarize themselves with investment opportunities in green road freight corridors in elected geographies.

Zero Emission Trucking as a Viable Asset Class

While zero emission truck application offers many benefits, uptake and investments are relatively low. Zero emission trucks are seen as a new asset class with which many investors seem partly unfamiliar also due to the lack of real time use data and experience. This session aims to enhance the understanding of zero emission trucking as a solid asset class enabling a more solid understanding as a basis for a consideration of a stronger and scaled up engagement in specific opportunities for zero emission truck investment. At the session the Bloomberg/SFC report on zero emission trucking as asset class will be presented.

Port Drayage Announcement at TCP Summit
